Case: 42 yrs. female, Adenomyosis

Assalamu alaikum Dr. Mee Lain,
I don’t know what you put in this herbal mix but before this my pain was 11 on the scale 1-10, now it is a solid 5, I can walk nicely to the washroom and cook a little bit, also drive a car. May Allah reward you for your wisdom, Ameen. Also I noticed less blood and blood clots. Alhamdulillah. Oh and the period was on time too, that doesn’t happen very often.

Case: 44 yrs female, Chronic headaches + sinus congestion

I had severe debilitating headaches with accompanying sinus congestion for FIVE YEARS until I found Dr. Mee Lain. After just ONE session of wet cupping behind my neck plus acupuncture on my face for plugged, painful sinuses, I have absolutely NO symptoms (even 3 months later). And with the nutrition plan she has educated me about that I follow exactly, my energy is amazing! If I had known of her before, I would have come years ago instead of taking the multiple prescriptions of antibiotics and bottles of painkillers.

Cases (2): 50+ yrs male, Numb feet, unstable walking, shakiness, Peripheral Neuropathy
50+ yrs female, Lower back pain + Menopausal syndrome

My husband, Henrik, was diagnosed by our G.P. as having Hemochromatosis, too much iron in his blood, in October of 2014, the treatment for this is called a Phlebotomy where they remove blood.  The day after his first Phlebotomy, he was walking down the stairs and fell and hit his head (and thank goodness broke a water glass which woke me up), he was unconscious and foaming at the mouth, I called 911 and the ambulance was there within 5 minutes.  After a week in the hospital and a battery of tests, followed up with a number of additional tests, the Neurologist thought he might have Peripheral Neuropathy, but there was no definitive diagnosis.  After some research, we learned in late 2015 that Acupuncture would likely help with Peripheral Neuropathy.  (It turns out he does not have Hemochromatosis.)

I knew of Dr Mee Lain Ling as she treated my Mother once for a bad back and did make a significant difference.  She has a great demeanour, is very thorough and extremely knowledgeable and truly cares about her patients.  My husband agreed to try Acupuncture around June of 2016 and when we went to his first appointment together, Dr Mee Lain Ling diagnosed him with blood stagnation.  At the first appointment he had a BLACK ‘flying saucer’ shaped mark lengthwise in the middle of his tongue which was about 4 cm long  and 1.5 cm wide.

She started treating him with acupuncture, cupping and herbs, as well as a number of changes in his diet, along the lines of an anti-inflammatory diet, with a few more restrictions.  When he started treatment he had extremely dark blood, numb balls of his feet and numb toes, along with a fear of walking down stairs and instability walking on flat surfaces.   She also recommended we get a larger roller for the backs of his legs and a foot roller for his feet to help with the numbness.

After about 8 months of treatments, typically every 3 – 4 weeks, he has improved incredibly, a friend said it was a 150% improvement.  His treatment includes acupuncture, cupping, the aforementioned dietary changes and Chinese herbs and using the foot roller and larger roller twice a day.  He went from holding my hand in a vice grip walking down a slight incline to walking fine on his own.  He went from coming down the stairs on his behind to walking down the stairs normally, although occasionally one stair at a time.  His memory has improved significantly.  The mark on his tongue is currently very faint, light blue less than 5% of what it was originally.  Dr Ling said if he had not come in when he did for treatments, she believes he was headed for Parkinson’s disease, and now, as long as he doesn’t retreat to his standard diet on a regular basis this will not happen.  I honestly believe she saved his life.

She noticed that his dry cough was not improving and recommended he try out a spa/clinic called Salt Paradise which helps with detoxification and she felt would improve his coughing.  It most undoubtedly has improved his coughing.

In addition to Dr Mee Lain Ling’s excellent treatment of my husband, she also treated me.  I woke up one morning with sharp shooting pains in my left hip, after all the amazing things she has done, and is doing, for my husband, I immediately booked an appointment with Dr Ling.  It turned out to be Kidney inflammation, and through change of diet, acupuncture, cupping, using the larger roller on my back twice a day, and Chinese herbs, I went from a pain that was a 9 out of 10 (where 10 was the worst) to 1 in 6 to 8 weeks.  After the Kidney issue was resolved we discussed my menopausal symptoms and varicose veins. She recommended different combinations of Chinese herbs to improve my Menopausal symptoms, which are helping.  I had surgery to have the veins striped in my right leg late June of 2016, primarily because the valve in my groin was not functioning well,  my  varicose veins improved after that, however, the Surgeon still wanted me to wear compression stockings for during the day.  Dr Ling recommended I start using the foot roller twice a day and she believes I may not need to continue to wear compression stockings, period. So far it’s looking good, which is great as the stockings are not that comfortable!

She recommended I also go to Salt Paradise to help with further detoxification and a bit of a runny nose.  It has definitely helped.

In addition, Dr Ling also knows of the best places to purchase products she recommends which makes finding them so much easier.

Over the course of both of our treatments, we’ve come to understand how incredibly knowledgeable she is and how well she understands and adjusts her treatments to each individual person, as not everyone reacts the same way to illnesses or treatments.  We highly recommend Dr Mee Lain Ling, she is an ABSOLUTELY AWESOME Doctor!!!  We have passed on our recommendations to a number of friends and acquaintances and will continue to do so.  On a scale of 0 to 10 (where 10 is the best) we both give her a 20.

Case: 83 yrs, Cough + common cold from November-March every year

My mother loves the herbs you prescribed for me to take to her [in Algeria]. She feels so good with them and for the first time in years has had no cough or cold this season. She was even waking me up every morning just to make the herbal tea for her and wants to continue on them. Thank you so much.

Case: 26 yrs, Ankylosing spondilitis (AS) + Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

After having found ways to control my AS symptoms after some trial and error with certain foods, I can say that your recommendations were completely correct. I’ve also begun mindful meditation to control pain, since it relapses for very short periods. Here are the following points from my own experience, that you recommended, that were proven to me thus far, as well as some new points I discovered from research and experimentation.

1. Rice is the only starch that is suitable for people with AS, or gluten free breads.
2. Magnesium/Magnesium sulfate is incredibly effective in relieving symptoms, since it provides regularity, which leads me to my next point.
3. IBS/digestive issues, toxins, and parasites/digestive tract bacteria, have more to do with AS symptoms than anything else to my knowledge. I don’t have a family history of AS, nor autoimmune issues, nor arthritic issues, though a strong family link to IBS. I noticed directly that regularity and cleaning my colon and blood, leads to near immediate relief.
4. Warm liquids. Anything warm, especially with lemon or mint, helps significantly, when used over 2-3 days, with noticeable though not complete alleviation on the first day.
5. Light exercise, walking, and exclusion of any heavy lifts. I’ve noticed 50 body right squats with proper form helps, as well as very light functional lifts, not exceeding 15lbs.
6. Animal fats, less dairy, more green vegetables. All of these help, though dairy can bring digestion issues easily.
7. MSM. MSM takes a short while, but one will notice a difference when adding it to their routine, especially in terms of flexibility.
8. Yin Yoga. Every yin yoga exercise, as well as the time given for holding positions (at least 60 seconds per position) and breath release/inhaling, makes a gigantic difference.
9. Wet cupping. Every time we’ve done wet cupping with good amounts of blood taken away, the effect has been substantial afterwards.
10. A new addition: I’ve noticed that coffee helps significantly. I’m not sure why this is, and best when hot. It gives me increased flexibility, much less pain, has laxative effects, and increases my energy. I know that the issue with this is potential dehydration which can bring on issues if not paid attention to, so I make sure to drink as much water as I can when I do drink coffee. I think blood thinners help with alleviating symptoms.

My brother who was skeptical at first about alternative treatments, is now the opposite way alhamdulilah, and after he lost over 100lbs, he began researching my condition and alternative medicine, and everything he’s told me from his own research to do with my condition, you already told me almost 2 years ago. He wants to come inshallah when he renews his passport.

Case: 26 yrs, Chronic headaches + abdominal bloating and constipation

Dr. Ling, I just have to say that I’ve seen so many doctors for my headaches and digestion issues, and no one was able to help me like I have found with your nutrition plan and wet cupping treatments. In only two treatments in a span of six months I’ve learned so much and felt so much better than I have in a very long time. Thank you very much.

Case: 53 yrs, Eczema + chronic stress

Dr. Mee Lain, you’ve been a lifesaver to me in my health. I started out seeing you with no attunement to my feelings and intuition, and you’ve taught me how to honour my inner guidance and emotions so I can manage stress much better. Now, even when I feel some stress, I no longer react by getting eczema in my hands. And from the regular wet cupping we’ve been doing, the abnormal benign lumps found in my breast are reducing in size! I can’t thank you enough.

Case: 28 yrs, Allergies/rash/skin burn

I began my medical consultations with Dr. Mee Lain Ling in August of 2014. I wanted to see her after seeing how much improvement my younger brother had with his spinal fusions (potential ankylosing spondylitis). I consulted Dr. Ling regarding headaches (similar to vertigo) I had been having for the past year and joint pain in my left knee. I had gone to three doctors before Dr. Ling and none of them were able to help me. Dr. Ling not only found the root cause of my problem but got rid of my headaches and knee pain in 3 months by prescribing me herbs, nutritional supplements and specific teas.

Recently about a month ago I contacted Dr. Ling regarding a burn I had. I had burnt my arm with a curling iron and tore the blister on accident. To keep the liquid from the wound from spreading I had placed an ointment and band-aid on my wound. A few hours later, my arm began stinging and I had formed a rash in the shape of the band-aid. I immediately rushed to the hospital wherein they diagnosed the wound as a 3rd degree burn with an allergic reaction to the band-aid. The ER physician placed a topical cream (Silver Sulfadiazine) on my burn. About a day later I noticed red bumps all over my arm, back and neck as well as swelling in both ears. Again, I went back to the ER where they told me that I was having an allergic reaction to Silver Sulfadiazine and they than placed me on steroids (Prednisone), Ranitidine and Benadryl. I was on the medication for a week and the symptoms went away but the burn was still severe. I had also begun to feel very sick after stopping the steroids and noticed little red bumps on my eye lids as well as puffiness around the eyes, swelling in both ears, and swelling of the face. I immediately called Dr. Ling and told her what I had gone through, she told me how awful steroids can be and that the reactions I am having are withdrawals from the steroids.

She recommended I drink 1-2 cups a day of honeysuckle/dandelion/mint/chrysanthemum tea and also soak my arm in the tea with the herbs and dab some on my eyes as well. Within FOUR days the reactions on my face, ears and eyes went away, and within ONE week my arm wound was FULLY healed. Dr. Ling was not able to see me in person as she lives in Canada and I live in Seattle, so seeing her was difficult. At the time we communicated through email and she was able to cure me, where two doctors who saw me in person and saw my wounds made things worse.

All I have now is a small black mark that is fading away. I am so very grateful that I was able to find someone like Dr. Ling. She cured me by using a combination of Chinese herbal medicine and natural-food based medicine. Dr. Ling truly cares about her patients, she takes time to understand what her patients are going through in order to find what medication will work for them, she also understands that each person is different and their bodies react differently to certain medications and illnesses. Even if Dr. Ling were to move half-way across the world I would still find a away to get to her. I have never in my 28 years seen and/or had such an exceptional Doctor. I hold Dr. Ling in high regard and would recommend her to anyone and everyone. Dr. Ling is a blessing to the medical community.

Case: 28 yrs, Low immunity, motion sickness, chronic fatigue

I used to be scared of needles, but not anymore. Dr. Ling has such a gentle technique, I relax and doze off during the treatment. Plus, my overall immunity, energy level, strength, and quality of hair growth (no longer brittle and breaking off) are all so much better since starting the recommended nutrition plan, acupuncture and herbal medicine with Dr. Mee Lain. And I no longer get motion sickness riding the bus! I really look forward to my sessions with her.

Case: 37 yrs, Chronic lower back pain

For more than 10 years I used to have really bad lower back pain.  After one session of wet cupping along with acupuncture, my back pain is 80% gone. The pain doesn’t wake me at night now, or bother me after sitting for hours at work. I didn’t do anything else different. Dr. Ling knows how to perform hijama (wet cupping) properly.

Case: 70 yrs, Frozen shoulder + lower back pain

(Translated from Cantonese) In my first visit with Dr. Ling in July 2014, she did a technique called wet cupping for my frozen shoulder. After one session of this, my shoulder had 95% mobility and zero pain. Now, when I come back to Vancouver twice a year, I always make a point to see her for tune-ups like dealing with this recent onset of lower back pain. Even though she has encouraged me to get similar treatment in Hong Kong where I primarily reside, I can’t find anyone there who does this technique or has this level of effectiveness using acupuncture.

Case: 77 yrs, Hand numbness, night sweats, insomnia, fatigue

I consulted via Skype with Dr. Mee Lain about foods and herbs I could take for hands numbness, night sweating, poor sleep, and fatigue. After eating the foods and cooking the herbs she suggested, I was amazed how quickly my symptoms disappeared – in less than a week. I am so grateful – thank you.

Case: 56 yrs, Acute lower back + hip pain

I was amazed that immediately after one electro-acupuncture session with Dr. Mee Lain, I could move easily without the sharp pains in my lower back and hip that I had before.
